This is a
one of a kind Promotional car designed for the 1974 car show circuit. It is
titled as a 1973 Trans-Am. Because it was so well received by the public it
became the basis for the 1976 50th anniversary model. This car is
equipped with a Super Duty 455 and is personally signed by John Schinella on the
console and under the hood.
This promo
car is untouched original paint which is spider webbing because of the age of
the paint and the use of clear coat when painted at GM Design Division. The
mileage is 28,000 and is documented as this car was purchased from the original
owner with oil changes and service work and stated mileage on the invoices. The
guy worked for GM as head accountant and must have been close to Bill Mitchell
as Bill instructed that the car go to him instead of being destroyed like most
promo cars. The car was purchased July 2004 with his name on the title and
registration until 1977 when he must have quit driving it daily. It is a piece
of Pontiac automotive history. This car was drive by Bill Mitchell and John
Schinella and personally signed by John on the console and under the hood. The
links below are articles about the cars history. The price is $120,000.00 or
will trade it for a four speed numbers matching 1973 Super Duty or Formula.
